What do you want to try next year? Is there something you wanted to try in 2010? What happened when you did/didn’t go for it?
Over the next year I want to try getting involved in more freelance work — Maybe accepting makeup artist gigs again or pursuing writing or other opportunities.
This time last year I was working two jobs and going to school, but I already had the desire to get involved in freelance work. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get to do any of it but, realistically, I didn’t have the focus, dedication or time.
I wanna know, what do you want to try this year? Did you go for what you wanted last year?

Happy first day of February! I can’t believe January has already come and gone, it’s barely feels like we’re a week into this new year! But here we are, saying hello to February and goodbye January…
What a month it’s been:
Rang in 2011 with food, family and fireworks; Decided to challenge myself; Recounted my best and worst of 2010; Celebrated the holidays with my co-workers at Kai Market; Finally made time to work on Reverb 10; Started working on an editorial calendar for the bloggy; Saw Valentino: The Last Emperor; Said goodbye to my great-grandma at a beautiful service full of family and lovely Hawaiian music; Pancake House and Bravo’s with Uncle Pat and the fam; Put down one of my dogs, Ikaika, after the vet told us his liver damage wasn’t treatable, and was causing him lots of pain (major sadface); Saw some of my hula sisters I hadn’t seen in forever; Saw the Roosevelt boys basketball team in action; Finally got a case for my Nook; Shared some dishes/recipes I want to make this year; Forever traded politically incorrect jokes with my dad via text; Decided to challenge myself to read 52 books this year; Went walking with my cousins Tiari and Tiffy, and my handsome godson, Tyxae; Listened to Debussy, on repeat; Had a bon voyage soiree (ok, it was really a night of beers, shots, pupus, and talking shit at Bar 35 haha!) for one of my best friends, Matt, who’s moving to New Mexico next week); Took a day off at SC when I was feeling like crap; Headed to Formaggio Grill for Ryan and Mary Ann’s baby shower; and, as usual, played Mixtape Monday and shared a little Link Lovin’ <3
I’m looking forward to:
My birthday (I’ll be 24, craziness!); The return of Glee; Cooking and baking more; Lots of reading; Lots of writing; Introducing some new columns to the bloggy; Not shopping; Buying a MacBook Air (probably); Planning for my vacations this year; Getting into a regular workout schedule; Possibly going back to dancing Tahitian; Digging through my room until I find my RocknRolla DVD; Celebrating Uncle Mello’s birthday with a big surprise party; My cousin Tiffy’s baby shower (for Brucey, due in March!); Exploring more with my camera
