Hello & Goodbye: Feb-Mar 2011
Happy first day of March! It’s hard to believe that two months have already gone by this year… I mean, I fell like life should be different by now haha! But we’re at the beginning of one month and the end of another, so let’s say hello and goodbye.
What a month it’s been:
- Continued with my Reverb 10 project. (See: Try, Healing, Beyond Avoidance, Future Self, Travel, New Name). No, I’m not done yet (have I mentioned this was a December project? Haha!), but I do plan on seeing the project all the way through.
- Watched more Roosevelt basketball
- Went to dinner at Shokudo and to see The Mechanic with Matt, PG and Lee; Before Matt left HI for good, for New Mexico. Sad face.
- Missed Uncle Jumel’s party and a Roosevelt basketball game because I was sick as a dog :(
- Expanded on the Soundtrack post I did for the holidays, and turned it into a monthly column.
- Started a new (temporary) work schedule, where I’m only in the office four days a week instead of five.
- Became a Love Dropper.
- Wished everyone a happy Valentine’s Day with the help of Kina Grannis.
- Introduced two new monthly columns: UK Tuesday (Union Jack) and Wedding Wahine (Reality TV).
- Said goodbye to Ikaika and Maka, my two dogs who passed on :(
- Borrowed some supplies from the warehouse for my cousin Tiffy’s baby shower, then celebrated the special day with her and help her start to get little Brucey’s things in order.
- Almost went to Vegas, ha!
- Went with the fam to a baseball fundraiser and finished the night with a few more drinks at Mai Tai Bar.
- Attended a “think tank” retreat for work and rode the bus!
- Helped my cousin with a school project by watching people cross the street.
- Got pampered! Manicure, pedicure, massage and eyebrow wax :)
- Had dinner (Banana Leaf), wine (7-11 haha!) and desert (Phucket Thai) with my best gals — Joelle, PG and Dana <3
- Went to church. Yup, church! And was actually really affected by it.
- Celebrated with my fam: Dinner, BJ Penn and UH men’s basketball. And then watched rugby online. I guess it was a sports celebration haha!
- Made my picks for the Oscars!
- Watched: Buried, The Last Exorcism, Dinner for Schmucks, Saw 3D, Dirty Dancing, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Joan Rivers: A piece of Work, Girl 27, Fall From Grace, National Geographic: Inside the Body Trade, Champion and The Horsemen. And finally finished season four of Dexter!
- And, as usual, played Mixtape Monday and shared a little Link Lovin’ <3
I’m looking forward to:
- My dad’s birthday! And a few other birthdays, too: My friends Seryna, Shy, Nani, and my friend Andrea’s baby Ariana!
- The due dates of my cousin Tiffy and co-worker Mary Ann!
- A reunion with the girls from my Billabong days
- Maisey Rika in concert
- Finally trying that PiYo class at the gym I’ve been talking about for forever!
- Possibly looking for a part-time job.
