Hello & Goodbye: Apr-May 2011

Happy first day of March! It’s hard to believe that two months have already gone by this year… I mean, I fell like life should be different by now haha! But we’re at the beginning of one month and the end of another, so let’s say hello and goodbye.

What a month it’s been:

  • Watched all three seasons of Sons of Anarchy. If you aren’t watching it, you definitely have a void in your life. It’s that good.
  • Had a couple of Starbucks work/study session with my cousin Tiari, and we got a ton of stuff done!
  • Finished the 30 Days of Lists project! See this roundup for links to all the posts! My favorite remains #21: Celebrity Crushes.
  • Went to the advanced screening of Soul Surfer. Cute movie!
  • Danced hula for the first time in a while.
  • Had dinner at Sushi San!
  • Celebrated the one year anniversary of Shiba Inu Hawaii. I even live-tweeted the event!
  • Got hooked on Mob Wives. Drita is my girl!
  • Met my co-worker’s newborn little girl, Elin <3
  • Wished everyone a Happy Easter Sunday.
  • Finally ate at Yogur Story.
  • Took my godson to see the movie Rio!
  • Had dinner at the Makiki Farmers Market.
  • Told y’all that you must see Talking Funny!
  • Was glued to the TV watching Merrie Monarch, the royal wedding, Michael Scott’s last episodes on The Office, and the season premieres of Law & Order: Criminal Intent and In Plain Sight.
  • Watched a few movies, too: Country Strong, Kidulthood, The Poker House, Soul Power, The Switch
  • Worked an event at Aulani, the new Disney hotel at Ko Olina, set to open this fall! Yay for Disney, boo for blisters :(
  • And, as usual, played Mixtape Monday and shared a little Link Lovin’ <3

I’m looking forward to:

  • Celebrating my cousin Tiffy’s birthday
  • Trying a yoga class at the gym
  • Having a garage sale with the bff and her fam
  • A high school graduation and a graduation party
  • Reading and writing a lot more
  • Spending more time with my (crazy) family!

Mixplate Monday 5.2.11

Ugh, you guys, I’m not looking forward to this week! I have insane blisters on my feet, and I wish I could prop them up on an ottoman for the next few days! But here we are, another Monday, and it’s time to smile and hit the ground running!

Last Week’s Highlights

Weekend Happenings

  • Spent most of Saturday at Aulani, the new Disney hotel! It looks great so far, and I’m looking forward to it’s grand opening later this year!
  • Had some delicious haupia cake from Larry’s bakery with my other fam, lol :)
  • Slept in!
  • Nursed the nasty blisters I got from the aforementioned Disney event :/
  • Had a great Sunday night of television: A new episode of Breakout Kings plus season premiers of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and In Plain Sight!

On the Agenda

  • Visit Kokua Market (a local natural foods co-op) and Whole Foods to check out some options to improve the food I eat
  • Check out the new Bath & Body Works store that opens today at Ala Moana
  • Make signs for the upcoming garage sale
  • A rather large, but hopefully not difficult, project at work

As of Today

  • Drinking: Lots of water and more OJ! I’m still not feeling exactly 100% so I need lots of both.
  • Making: Some office decorations! We are in serious need of a facelift :)
  • Celebrating: My cousin Tiffy’s 21st birthday! She’s a beautiful girl and a great mama to my nephew Brucey, and I love her to pieces! Happy birthday, Tiff!
