Weekly Goals 7.31.11

I’m in a total self-improvement phase right now. While I am happy with and proud of the person I am, I absolutely have faults, and want to work on them.

I’ve tried a million times to make lifestyle adjustments, but permanent changes are tough. To say that I’m going to change something about my life forever just seems like too monumental a decision, and I tend to feel like a total failure and give up at the first small slip-up.

So I decided that I want to work on myself a little at a time by setting three weekly goals for myself each week. Some will be big, some will be small — And there will be a wide range of subjects from health, financial, academic, and professional to other personal topics. Here’s the first set:

  • Don’t look at gossip websites; No more Yahoo! OMG or Perez Hilton
  • No fast food; This might be tough cause I’m a sucka for the convenience of the dollar menu and drive-thru
  • Early to bed; Be in bed, tv and computer off, by 11pm

I wanna know // How have you been “working on yourself” lately? Make any progress on personal goals?

Cheers!

Soundtrack 7.31.11

Happy Sunday! I’m hoping for a nice, mellow day of dogs, shopping, organizing, and writing — And I’ll be listening to this little playlist as I try to tackle it all :)

I wanna know, what have you be listening to lately? Got any songs/artists/albums to recommend?

Play on,
Tiera

PS: I’m back to using Mixpod. I was getting so annoyed with the lack of variety in the music at Playist. Plus you can create a new track using a YouTube link. Genius.

PPS: If you’re viewing this post in a reader, you’ll probably have to head on over to the SC site to actually view/use the player. See ya there!

Link Lovin’ 7.30.11

I really love putting together these links posts. I get to re-read some of the stuff that wowed me recently and share it with whoever happens across my little blog. But I also wanted to let you know that I’ve begun sharing a lot more on Tumblr, especially videos and links with pretty pictures! Anyhow, back to the links:

I wanna know // What’s rocking your corner of the interwebs? Got any links to share?

Xoxo,

White Boys Do Hip Hop

I happened to catch a pretty bad ass segment of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon sometime last week, when Jimmy & ex-*Nsync-er Justin Timberlake performed a little tribute called History of Hip Hop. (Notice how I included the asterisk in *Nsync? Yeah, I’m a fan.) It wasn’t until I looked it up the video on good ol’ YouTube that I learned it was part 2! Of course I had to find both parts, and watch them both. Repeatedly.

Part 1 // I can’t even pick a favorite part. It’s all legit.

Part 2 // Dear God I hope they keep making these.

Bonus Clip // Brett Domino’s Stylophone Beatbox Medley is equal parts awesome and awkward.

I wanna know // What’s your favorite late night show? What’s the best medley you’ve seen/heard lately?

Peace out. (Too cheesy?)

Mixplate Monday 7.25.11

Seriously, I think this week is going to suck. It’s going to be craziness at work and I’ve got a million things to do at home — The only thing I’m looking forward to is payday haha!

Last Week’s Highlights

  • Really fell in love with the new Jessie J album, Who You Are
  • Photographed Gate 26
  • Puppy time and dinner at my mom’s house
  • Went to free lollipop day at See’s Candies
  • Dinner and family time with Tyxae, Brucey and their mamas
  • Shared my recent drugstore haul
  • Signed up for (and already love) Spotify

Weekend Happenings

  • Went to the New Hope production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Dana
  • Met Matt for late night happy hour at Ryan’s
  • A few more drinks and reggae music (and surprise coworker’s and family) at Paparazzi
  • A long day with Bobert: Breakfast at Likelike Drive Inn, free tasting at The Sake Shop, Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Captain America
  • Got some work done, including football stats with my pops

On the Agenda

  • Finishing up this football stuff with dad
  • Finishing my book
  • Watching the DVDs I need to return to Jayson when he gets back

As of Today

  • Craving: A smoothie. Big time.
  • Shopping: For almond butter
  • Drinking: Iced tea with lemon. 89-cents at Foodland!

I wanna know, what were your recent highlights? And what are you up to?

Cheers!
Tiera
