Weekly Goals 7.31.11
I’m in a total self-improvement phase right now. While I am happy with and proud of the person I am, I absolutely have faults, and want to work on them.
I’ve tried a million times to make lifestyle adjustments, but permanent changes are tough. To say that I’m going to change something about my life forever just seems like too monumental a decision, and I tend to feel like a total failure and give up at the first small slip-up.
So I decided that I want to work on myself a little at a time by setting three weekly goals for myself each week. Some will be big, some will be small — And there will be a wide range of subjects from health, financial, academic, and professional to other personal topics. Here’s the first set:
- Don’t look at gossip websites; No more Yahoo! OMG or Perez Hilton
- No fast food; This might be tough cause I’m a sucka for the convenience of the dollar menu and drive-thru
- Early to bed; Be in bed, tv and computer off, by 11pm
I wanna know // How have you been “working on yourself” lately? Make any progress on personal goals?
Cheers!

Soundtrack 7.31.11
Happy Sunday! I’m hoping for a nice, mellow day of dogs, shopping, organizing, and writing — And I’ll be listening to this little playlist as I try to tackle it all :)
I wanna know, what have you be listening to lately? Got any songs/artists/albums to recommend?
Play on,
Tiera
PS: I’m back to using Mixpod. I was getting so annoyed with the lack of variety in the music at Playist. Plus you can create a new track using a YouTube link. Genius.
PPS: If you’re viewing this post in a reader, you’ll probably have to head on over to the SC site to actually view/use the player. See ya there!

I really love putting together these links posts. I get to re-read some of the stuff that wowed me recently and share it with whoever happens across my little blog. But I also wanted to let you know that I’ve begun sharing a lot more on Tumblr, especially videos and links with pretty pictures! Anyhow, back to the links:
- You have to see Dear Photograph
- I love this interview with Tom Ford.
- I’m no web designer, but you know I’m a sucka for productivity tips.
- I’m no fashion blogger either, but this excerpt from Gala Darling’s interview for Fashion 2.0: Blogging Your Way to the Front Row is inspiring nonetheless.
- I’m also inspired by Gala’s list of 10 easy ways to love yourself more today. I’m working on #1 and #9.
- Even more inspiration comes from Iris, who talks about loving yourself.
- This is a blogging plan I need to get on board with.
- Amber & Adam are just <3
- If I was threatened by Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar and Forrest Griffin, I could def get my grades up.
- I’m all too familiar with shower therapy. It’s cathartic and — guess what, people? — it works!
- I’m a chronic over-packer, and in serious need of these tips.
- I actually want to write more, not less, next month, so I don’t think I’ll be participating in The August Break — But I do love the idea, and Katrina’s logo is amazeballs.
- Gala’s last day as a bachelorette is a sweet read.
- These photos of old Brooklyn are nostalgic and stunning. And the article about using the internet to help geotag the old photos is pretty nifty, too.
- My friend Niki sent me this link to an amazing set of photos!
- Check out these heat maps of Flickr photographs and Twitter tweets // via Diana
- Six Word Memoirs is absolutely amazing.
- These Milky Way photos are so cool.
- I love this set of photos: A City’s Hard Edges, Softened by Joy
- Show some compassion and write to a needy child.
- You know you love to make out.
- Russel Brand. For Amy.
I wanna know // What’s rocking your corner of the interwebs? Got any links to share?
Xoxo,

White Boys Do Hip Hop
I happened to catch a pretty bad ass segment of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon sometime last week, when Jimmy & ex-*Nsync-er Justin Timberlake performed a little tribute called History of Hip Hop. (Notice how I included the asterisk in *Nsync? Yeah, I’m a fan.) It wasn’t until I looked it up the video on good ol’ YouTube that I learned it was part 2! Of course I had to find both parts, and watch them both. Repeatedly.
Part 1 // I can’t even pick a favorite part. It’s all legit.
Part 2 // Dear God I hope they keep making these.
Bonus Clip // Brett Domino’s Stylophone Beatbox Medley is equal parts awesome and awkward.
I wanna know // What’s your favorite late night show? What’s the best medley you’ve seen/heard lately?
Peace out. (Too cheesy?)
