August Break 11 Reflection of Self

Hellooooo! And thanks for dropping in on my little piece of the internet, Side Culture :) I’m Tiera — a twenty-something creative, book-loving darling who loves few things more than cupcakes, Disney films, tequila, theme parties, and a good laugh. I take up too many interests and hobbies, explore new things and document them, and share it all (and more) here at Side Culture. I always have a lot to say ;)

My life is filled with loving/talented/hilarious people, my mother’s cooking, high heels, high tops, colorful eyeshadows, POG, ocean views, costume jewelry, mochi ice cream, anything (and everything) with ruffles, and hula costumes I’ll probably never wear again.

I believe in thank you notes, sleeping in, bed and breakfasts (and breakfast in bed), cucumber sandwiches, meditation, constant evolution, learning everyday, and the power of the iPhone :) I also believe in the three C’s: Compliments, cupcakes, and concealer. And I believe in challenging myself.

I am an assistant at an event and wedding planning/production company. I have been a college football press box staffer, surf shop sales girl, hostess/server/cocktail waitress, airline reservations agent, makeup studio assistant, retirement community receptionist, makeup artist, magazine writer/editorial intern, and newspaper sports editorial assistant. I’ve even gotten paid to sing and dance hula; How cool is that?!

But really, I’m a twenty-four year old creative type who spends my days planning weddings and events and (leisurely) pursuing my college degree, and all things lovely; All the while trying to figure out which one of my daydreams will become my lifelong calling. My blog ranges from journal to social commentary, and everything in between. Mostly in between.

In addition to the featured content, Side Culture is a very personal project and serves as an outlet for my interests/hobbies and professional experiments (including makeup artistry, handmade creations, business and marketing, public relations, and writing). In effect, Side Culture — Life on the Side, represents the things I do “on the side” in my own life.

I adore hearing from you, so comment on a blog post, subscribe, email me, and follow me on Twitter.
